For those of you who are not knowledgeable about wine, here is your chance to learn more from a Sommelier.
Q. What's that all about?
A. Someone who is in the restaurant business, orders and maintains the wines sold in the restaurant and usually has extensive knowledge about wine and food pairings.
Dan has become educated through seminars conducted by two Master Sommeliers, and completed his test in 2004. In addition, he has traveled for tours and tastings at famous chateaux in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and the Loire Valley in France and California's Napa Valley wineries. He has continued to travel and remain current with wine tours , tastings, and educational tastings.
His comments on our Featured Wine Trinchero Day Break Block'05 Merlot :
" high level, pleasant finish, good representation of Merlot. Not overwhelmed with wood, aged 'maybe' 6 months unlike 12+ months with Cabernet"
Merlot is easy to grow and the first grape to harvest in red wine varietals. It grows beautifully and this Daybreak block is a good representation.
